Attitude about Boobs

We all seem to get these backhanded compliments about our boobs.

Why?

Why are boobs such a hot topic, it's not like they are at eye level?

Men want them to be:  On show, presented like a smorgasbord, tempting, admired, big, round, perky, side boob, cleavage, voluptuous, accessible, desirable, sexual, stimulating or stimulated, fake and so on.

Yet in society, we shame them if they are not perky, round, big, well presented. Or if they are too well presented, they are too revealing, too sexual.

What if they are saggy, mismatched, scared, too small, too big, what if they don't conform to the current standards of 'attractive boobs'. What about those with boobs that are 'confronting'?

What about fake boobs, now isn't this a hot topic?

I have fake boobs; sure you may not know and most people would not guess at a glance. I'm small framed, petite, size 6/8, 5foot tall. My boobs are not a full c-cup. Sure, they are perky, but mostly you would think I'm just wearing cracking push up bra.

But when people realise I've got fake breasts....

  1. It's slutty
  2. I'm a whore
  3. Inappropriate
  4. Over sexual, over the top
  5. Intimidating .... weird right?
  6. I'm a man-eater!
  7. I'm out to get your husband..... You’re kidding, honey I don't want your husband or boyfriend
  8. Not being a good role model for girls or my sons. Now you just sad what!
  9. Setting unrealistic standards for other women... Stop it!
  10. It would not matter if I wore them out and proud or under a hessian sack, I'm still leered at and whispered about!

Yet before my breast implants, I was:

  • flat chested
  • not womanly
  • undesirable
  • boob shamed
  • I had fried egg titts
  • Out of proportion
  • Joked about

Sure, there are those that cheer you on for your choice for self-improvement or for your sexuality, for running the social gauntlet of boob job critics. Those that hold the 'fuck yer you've got great titts' banner for you to walk under.

But then there are the others....

Is it:

  • Fear
  • Jealousy
  • Their own self-worth
  • Judgment
  • Standards, morals, values
  • Scared of showing your sexuality
  • Pressured into the mumsy role
  • Don't want to be looked at, judged or trashed talked... just like you do to me!

Sure the positive body movement is a very powerful and evolving beast, much like a pokemon, but does getting fake breasts:

  1. really send a negative message?

  2. am I a bad feminist?

  3. did I hate my body so much that I just should have loved my itty bitty titties as they where, cause we are all queens!

oh the hypocrisy!
